June 2009Potomac, MDThirteen-year old Isaac of Potomac, MD was inspired to make a difference in the lives of children in Africa. He asked that all gifts from his Bar Mitzvah be given to Africare in support of orphans and vulnerable children. On June 30th, Isaac presented a check to Africare in the amount of $4,000! Wow! February 2009U.S.A.Eight U.S. schools joined together in support of the WASH in Schools Initiative and raised an amazing $25,600 $25,600 for eight schools in Uganda! Each school raised $3200 to bring water, sanitation and hygiene education to their partner school. Learn more about the schools and their fundraising efforts here. |
February 2009Springfield, MOLittle Sunshine Playhouse & Preschool in Springfield Missouri donated a whopping $1225.00 to support Africare’s work in water and sanitation! September 2008Whitefish, MontanaSix year old Libby Goldhirsch of Whitefish, Montana raised $1,105.45 to help dig wells for people in Africa by collecting loose change at her school and selling baked goods with her mom around the community. She was featured in her community newspaper as one of the youngest philanthropists in Whitefish. Way to go Libby! |
June 2008Kansas City, MOThe children of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church raised $1,112.85 for the African Well Fund. They brought coins to help support the Well Fund as their offering during their June Vacation Bible School. |

December 2007New york, NYThree New York middle-schoolers sold hot chocolate on the street on a cold January day to raise $220 $220 for Africare. |

October 2007Norwich Green, VermontHundreds of colorful bowls, in all shapes and sizes, lined the tables of Norwich Green, Vermont, on October 14, 2007 as the community united to raise money and awareness to a very important issue: global hunger.
