Women

In addition to community-wide assistance in all areas, Africare provides targeted development support to African women. Examples of such programs include:

  • Women in government
  • Development of women's co-ops, associations and businesses
  • Access to credit
  • Vocational training
  • Functional literacy training
  • Provision of labor-saving technologies, such as mechanical millet grinders
  • Maternal pre- and postnatal care
  • Comprehensive family health care
  • Nutrition education
  • Prevention of gender-based violence
  • All Africare programs: inclusion or prioritization of women
